Amitabh Bachchan, speaking on Kaun Banega Crorepati, reacting to a contestant’s explanation of veganism and animal rights said, “Hamari vichaar dhaara aapne badal di hain… jaakar ke aaj pareshaan hounga main…”, he also said, “gaaye doodh deti hain, lekin vah doodh deti hain apne bachhde ke liye, hamare liye nahi…”

(“You have changed the way I think… I will go home today feeling disturbed.”, he also said, “cows produce milk, but that milk is meant for their calves, not for us…”)

Commenting on the public response on the clip Aprajita Ashish, Founder & Director, Animal Save India said, “This moment mattered because it wasn’t preachy or confrontational, it was candid, honest and reflective. When someone as widely known and respected as Amitabh Bachchan pauses to reflect on animal ethics on prime-time television, it urges people to pause, think, and reflect. The response to this video shows that society is more ready for this conversation than we usually assume.”

Animal Save India stated that the scale of engagement reflects a growing public openness to conversations around animal rights, veganism, compassion, and ethical food choices especially when such discussions emerge organically in mainstream cultural spaces.
